I have fun spending time shopping for ideal fabrics and have a vast assortment of colors and textures on hand. Every creation is carefully crafted to ensure top quality. I suggest dry-cleaning or spot cleaning your tote to ensure long life and loft. I truly love to sew; it gives me a sense of gratification to be able to create for others.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME ~ JEN CHURCH AT YOUR SERVICE
I now live in beautiful Fredericksburg,Virginia. I was born in Ipswich Town, Suffolk in England and came to America 1987. I have been crafting and sewing for many years. In high school, I was taught by a very strict needlework teacher. I remember her requirements for perfection. She would never allow her students to sew anything without pinning and tacking first! After finally allowing us to operate the sewing machine, she would often require unpicking work to get the stitches straighter. At times I felt she was a bit mean; now I see what she was trying to do. Her way of teaching the basic's stuck in my memory. To this day I use many of Ms. Lee's techniques. Thanks Ms. Lee!
I come from a family of crafters. My Grandfather was a minesweeper in the British Merchant Navy. He would embroider on delicate laces during long deployments. My Grandmothers were both knitters & seamstresses too, as was my mother and her sister. I can knit, crochet & cross-stitch also, but find sewing my passion. As a girl I paid lots of attention to the talents of others, and joined the knitting and sewing circles we use to create as a family on long weekends together. My Mother and her Sister enjoyed dressmaking. My sister & I loved to be on the receiving end of their labor. Observing and learning from the family set me on my path of creativity.
My very first job as a teenager was working in a textile factory on a production line. I graduated from the factory apprentice training room after an extensive course in the use of industrial machines. I am grateful for valuable skills acquired during the factory experience, including learning to work as a team!
WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW
Currently, I have been busy designing & creating tote bags, thus turning my passion for sewing into a small business named "EverSewEnglish, LLC". These days you will find me at craft fairs and artisan markets or in the fabric stores. Listed on this site you can find my calendar of events if you would like to meet up with me and enjoy looking at the totes in person. In addition, I am working on building this website to become an online retailer, offering quality products & top-notch customer service.
Every tote is hand sewn by me using fashionable fabrics or novelty prints. Express your individuality by carrying an"EversSewEnglish" Tote bag. My line includes summer, fall, holiday, novelty, classy, pink ribbon, little miss and many more. I also make other essentials like tissue holders, eyeglass cases & checkbook covers too.
Totes make very thoughtful gifts, and are perfect for your family, friends, and special occasions. They also make a great gift to you! I have access to thousands of fabrics and endless ideas and will fill custom orders (at a slightly higher price than customary if I do not currently have the fabric in stock).
For people within my local area please feel free to call me to make arrangements for a tote gathering at your home or place of business. You can earn "tote bucks" and earn a free tote with matching accessories if you host a gathering with your girlfriends or coworkers. I am also available to host a showing at my home.
